1 June 2010SIOUX CITY -- Lois J. Whitman, 67, of Sioux City died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff, with Don Wood, CLS, officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lois was born Aug. 27, 1942, in Sioux City, the daughter of Melvin and Arlene (Hoopingarner) Cardwell. She was united in marriage to Darrell Whitman in 1975. Darrell passed away in June 1987.
She enjoyed playing bingo, nature walks, bird watching, painting by the numbers, crocheting and reading westerns.
She is survived by her daughters, Anna Bell, Elle (Kris) Warren, Heather Attia-Gabra and Roxanne Phillips; her sons-in-laws, Raymundo Corrall and Francisco Corrall; two brothers, Kenneth (Vicki) Cardwell and M. Keith (Kathy) Cardwell; six sisters, Janet Christensen, Nancy Scully, Georgia Rose, Lucille Nelson, Penny (Ray) Burmeister and Peggy Cardwell; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a stillborn sister, Colleen; her stillborn son, Sam Jason; and her nephew, Travis Webb.
