.SIOUX CITY -- Patricia Ann (Schietzelt) Van Buren, 80, of Sioux City died Monday June 7, 2010, at the Manning Plaza in Manning, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Stone Lodge in Stone State Park in Sioux City.

Patricia was born May 1, 1930, in Sioux City, to Rudolph and Kathleen (Martin) Schietzelt. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Cathedral High School, graduating in 1948. She then worked for Swift and Company in Sioux City, where she survived the explosion in 1949.

She married Henry Zielezinski on Dec. 31, 1949. They resided in the Chicago area, where Pat worked for American Airlines. She moved back to Sioux City in 1962.

Pat married Lawrence Van Buren on Nov. 28, 1971.They made their home in Spencer, Iowa, where she worked for Sears and Roebuck Company. She returned to Sioux City in 1976. Pat also worked as a secretary for Premier Trucking and Briar Cliff College, in Sioux City. In her years just before retirement, she worked as a home healthcare aide.

Survivors include her brother, Thomas Schietzelt and wife, Joni of Tulsa, Okla.; her three children, Paul of Sioux City, Mark of Sergeant Bluff, and Kathleen and husband, Larry Blake of Manning; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; plus several nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her sister, Thelma Krenc.
