Funeral services for Arthur (Tres) Baxley, 90, Hornick, who died Thursday morning at his residence after a long illness, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church in Hornick. Rev. Keith Scott will officiate. Burial will be in the Climbing Hill Cemetery under direction of the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.
The body will be at the resident in Hornick from 6:30 p.m. today until 1 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be David Goodrich, Donald Clem, Robert Morris Jr., Darrell Weber, Robert Unkel and Douglas Kenney.
Mr. Baxley was born Nov. 22, 1873, in Madison County, Iowa. He farmed in the Hornick and Climbing Hill area for several years. For the last 11 years he had lived in Hornick.
He was married to Lillie J. Smith on Feb. 7, 1898, in Sioux City.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Hornick.
Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Faye Goodrich of Climbing Hill, Mrs. Erma McDonough and Mrs. Grace Mirgensen both of South Sioux City and Mrs. Jessie Sorenson of Hornick; seven grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
