Kingsley, Iowa—Ella E. Schager, 79, of Kingsley, died Sunday, December 1, 1991, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christy Morningside Funeral Home, with Dr. Robert E. Peters of Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today with the family present 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schager, the former Ella Konegni,l was born January 29, 1912, in Wynot, Nebr. She lived in Arkansas for a short time before returning to Wynot. Most of her young life was spent in Wynot., She married Lloyd A. Schager Nov. 27, 1929, in Yankton, S.D. The couple moved to Bronson in 1938, where she raised her family. Mr. Schager died November 23, 1940, in Sioux City. She moved to Sioux City in 1958, she was employed by Dura Pak Corp. for 15 years, retiring in 1974. She moved to Kingsley in 1988.

Mrs. Schager was a Presbyterian. She was an active volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for many years after her retirement. She also was a volunteer at the A.I.D. Center.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Larry Severson of Mountain Home, Ark.; four sons and their wives, Buell L. “Buzz” and Peggy, Dale L and Margaret, Lowell D. “Tony” and Norma and Dean M. and Mary, All of Sioux City; 21 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters, six brothers and a grandson.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
