Funeral Services Held Monday For Eleanor Christiansen
Funeral services for Eleanor M. Christiansen, 58, of Moville, a child care provider, were held Monday February 11, 1991 at 10:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. The Rev. Philip J. Krupski officiated. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville.
Mrs. Barb Carlson, organist, accompanied Congregational Hymns, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” and “ I Am Jesus’ Little Lamb.”
Casketbearers were Messrs. Clifford Long, Craig Thoreson, Randy Christiansen, Perry Schindler, Bob Navrkal and Mike Christiansen.
Mrs. Christiansen, the former Eleanor Adden, was born October 14, 1932 in rural Merrill. After her elementary education in country schools, she attended high school in Sioux City (Leeds) and Hinton and graduated from Hinton High School in 1949. She married William Christiansen December 24, 1951 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds. She worked 11 years at Lutheran Hospital (now St. Luke’s) as a nurse’s aide. They farmed near Hinton and Kingsley. They moved to a farm near Moville in 1967 and into town in 1973. For the past 18 years she had provided child care in her home.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, and of the church circle.
Mrs. Christiansen died suddenly Wednesday February 6, 1991 at her residence.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Vicky Struble of Moville and Carol and her husband, Jim Twitchell, of Danbury; three sons and their wives, all of Moville; Steven and Barbara, Roger and Susan, and David and Patti; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
