Funeral Services Held Monday For Henry K. Martens
Funeral services for Henry K. Martens, 63, of rural Anthon, were held Monday August 5, 1991 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Climbing Hill. The Rev. Neal K. Ahart officiated. Interment was in Westfork Township Cemetery in Climbing Hill under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville.
Laura Neldeberg was organist.
Casketbearers were Messrs. Kenny Schieuer, Leonard Beaver, Walter Allner, Larry Allner, Clayton Cooch and Jerry Jurgensmeier.
Mr. Martens was born May 21, 1928, on a farm in rural Anthon. He attended Rising Sun School in rural Climbing Hill and later graduated from Climbing Hill Community School. He married Joan A. Tennis January 26, 1949, at Climbing Hill. He farmed all his life in the Anthon/Climbing Hill area.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Mr. Martens died unexpectedly Friday August 2, 1991 in a Sioux City hospital.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Perry and Patricia of Hornick, Iowa, and Kalvin and Jana of Moville; a daughter and her husband, Becky and Richard Nash of Ft. Dodge; a brother, W.D. Marten of Spirit Lake; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Donald.
