Walter C. Sans (Sams) 1892 - 1958

Funeral services for Walter C. Sans, 66, a Woodbury County resident most of his life who died Saturday at a doctor’s office at Onawa, Iowa, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church at Sloan. Rev. Mr. Coatsworth will officiate. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Wood funeral home in Sloan.

Mr. Sans, who had been employed as a farm laborer, had been in ill health for some time.

He was born February 10, 1892, at Dayton, Wash. He came to Iowa with his parents as a child. He married Clara Agnes Hollinger October 10, 1920, at Salix. His wife died in 1933. Three children also preceded him in death.

Mr. Sans had resided with a son, Donald, at Salix in recent years.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Leona Petersen of Thornton, Iowa: another son, Everett of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Homer of Salix, and Alvin of Sac City, Iowa, and three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Turner in Saskatchewan, Can., Mrs. Anna Hollenbeck of West Liberty, Iowa, and Mrs. Pinkie Mareau of Sloan.
