Mrs. Ruby Tennis, 43, Climbing Hill, a lifelong resident there, died Tuesday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Climbing Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Persons of Climbing Hill will officiate. Burial will be in the Climbing Hill cemetery under the direction of the W. Harry Christy funeral home of Morningside.
Mrs. Tennis was born July 23, 1913, in Climbing Hill. She married Arthur Tennis March 5, 1930, in Dakota City, Nebr. He died May 10, 1953, in Climbing Hill.
Mrs. Tennis was a member of the Baptist Church in Climbing Hill.
Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Johndreau of Hornick, two daughters, Janet at home, and Mrs. Joan Martens of Hornick; four brothers, Don Johndreau of Sioux City, Clarence of Ames, Ia., Allan of Minneapolis, Minn., and A.L. of Hornick; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Borski of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Iva Carrothers of Omaha, Mrs. Opal Haakinson of Sioux City, and Mrs. Bertha Callison of Washington, D.C. and three grandchildren.
