Funeral Services Held Saturday For Glen R. Lighthall
Funeral services for Glen Raymond Lighthall, 59, Bronson farmer, were held Saturday, June 21, 1980 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lawton Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert E. Peters officiated. Interment was in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City. The McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Art B. Wilson was organist.
Casketbearers were Messrs. LeRoy Carlson, Richard Gerking, Wayne Howard, Howard Mesz, Robert Padel and Wendel Roeschke.
Mr. Lighthall was born September 25, 1920, the son of Ralph J and Maude A. Willer Lighthall, near Bronson. He was graduated from Lawton High School. He serviced more than 3 ½ years as a parachute rigger with the Navy Air Force and served overseas with Fleet Air Wing 16 and Headquarters Squadron 9-2.
He married Jean Mefferd June 4, 1946, at LeMars. They lived on the same farm where he was born.
Mr. Lighthall was a longtime member and past president of the Woodbury County Farm Bureau and a member of the boards of directors of the Woodbury County Community Action Agency and the Lawton Community Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Lighthall died Wednesday June 18, 1980 in a Sioux City hospital following an extended illness.
Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Miss Patricia of Bronson, Mrs. Danny (Mary) Gilbert And Mrs. Gary (Marquerite) Wilson, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Leo (Katherine) Lidgett of Hornick; a sister, Mrs. Don (Lucille) Sieger of Hornick, a brother, Lloyd of Lawton and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
