Funeral services held Wed. for Julius K. Krueger
Funeral services for Julius (Pete) Krueger, 67, Moville, were held Wednesday, September 18, 1974 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Moville. The Rev. Dr. John A Dowd officiated. Interment was in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roger Schnaible, vocalist, sang “How Great Thou Art” and “In My Father’s Home are Many Mansions.” Organist was Mrs. Charles E. Rhue.
Casketbearers were Messrs. Duane Baird, Lyle Groth, Jerry Meyer, Gary Michener, Ronald Michener and James Pinney.
Mr. Krueger, son of Karl Krueger and Alvina Fey Krueger, was born February 28, 1907, in Iowa. He attended Woodbury County schools and Climbing Hill High School. He worked during World War II at Mare Island Navy Yard in California.
After the war he owned his own electrical shop at Anthon and Climbing Hill. He was custodian at the Climbing Hill School building for more than 20 years. He retired in 1969 because of ill health. He was sexton for Westfork Township Cemetery at Climbing Hill. He also had a seed corn dealership.
He married Ruth M Mahnke on August 25, 1939. They lived in California for six years then moved to Iowa. They moved to Moville four years ago.Mr. Krueger died September 16, 1974 at a Sioux City hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and one sister, Mrs. Clarence (Marie) Miller.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Gene of Orange City, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Terry (Mary Lou) Petersen, Moville; Mrs. Douglas (JoAnn) Williams, Amarillo, Texas; Mrs. James A. (Shirley) Bleil, Moville; a sister, Mrs. William (Clara) Hueston of Gilmore City; a brother, Albert of Climbing Hill and four grandchildren.
