SIOUX CITY -- Georgia "Alma" Smith of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at her daughter's, Marylee, residence in Sioux City.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Paul Johnston officiating. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Alma Smith was born on a farm in Goodwin, Neb., daughter of George E. Brown and Cora A. (Garner) Brown. She lived in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School.

She married Arnold P. Jasman on July 20, 1938, in Sioux City. She married Walter Smith on Feb. 18, 1959. Alma was a Realtor for many years. After retiring, she was a senior companion and volunteered for Hospice.

Alma was a charter member of South Sioux City Charter Chapter of ABWA.

She is survived by two daughters, Marylee (Jasman) Franklin of Sioux City and Barbara J. (Jasman) and her husband, Gary Uehling of Martinsburg, Neb.; and a son, Arnold P. Jasman and his wife, Penny of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Trish Wessel, David Lyman, Arnold P. Jasman Jr., Lisa Jasman, Debra Braun, Kristine Archuleta, Gary R. Uehling, Jr; 12 great-grandchildren, Jordon, Francesca, Elly, Landry, Dennis, Matthew, Brittany, Blake, Grant, twins Andrew, Claire and Laura; two great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Bob Brown and his wife, Helen of Lebanon, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Vera Johnson; a brother, Lloyd Brown; a daughter in infancy, Carolyn Ann Jasman; and a granddaughter, Cindy Rameriz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City or Hospice of Siouxland.
