Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Vernon P Petit

Vernon P. Petit, 70, Julia’s Valley Manor, Sioux City, died Saturday, February 1, 1992 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 1992 at Christy Morningside Funeral Home, Sioux City, with Dr. Robert E. Peters of Elliot Creek Presbyterian Church of Bronson officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Messrs. Everett Rasmussen, Bill Jessen, Ed Flammang, Bill Christman, Sam Corrie and Paul Corrie.

Mr. Petit was born December 13, 1921 in Flandreau, South Dakota. He grew up in the Anthon-Oto area and lived in Hornick and Holly Springs, prior to moving to Bronson in 1965. He was a farmer and truck driver.

Mr. Petit was a former member of Nativity Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Petit and Wayne and his wife, Rochelle Petit, all of Bronson; a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Bob Fisher of Bronson; five grandchildren, Pede Downing, Kristie Petit, Shawn Petit, Stephanie Thorpe and Brett Fisher; a sister and her husband, Marion and Gene Leander of Ottumwa, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe.
