Bronson, Iowa—Lawrence E. Wilcox, 79, of Bronson, died suddenly Friday, Feb. 7, 1992 at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Billy Sunday Memorial Tabernacle, Sioux City, with Dr. Wesley M. Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today, with the family present 7-9 p.m. at Christy Morningside Funeral Home.

Mr. Wilcox was born March 14, 1912, in Sioux City, the son of Percival and Amanda Wilcox. He graduated with honors from Central High School in Sioux City in 1930 and was a lifelong Sioux City area resident. He married Mary Lucille Woolworth Nov. 4, 1933, in Sioux City. She died Oct. 16, 1991, in Sergeant Bluff. He was a truck driver for various area meat packers. He retired from Sherman Produce in 1974 and moved to Bronson.

Mr. Wilcox attended Billy Sunday Memorial Tabernacle. He was an avid bowler and participated in many horseshoe tournaments.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, Richard and Sharon Wilcox of Sioux City, Donald and Judy Wilcox of Rapid City, SD, David and Cassandra Wilcox of Des Moines and Douglas and Mardean Wilcox of Fort Dodge; five daughters, Karen and her husband, John Howard of Hubbard, Neb., Sherry and her husband, Robert Nash, Julie and her husband, Barry Nelson and Rebecca Wilcox, all of Sioux City, and Ann Hagerstrom of Hinton, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Anderson of Royal Oak, Mich.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Jane.

Pallbearers will be Jack Hollesen, Sam Hallowell, Roger Edwards, Dr. Oliver Lock, James Hair and Warren Barnes.
