Lottie A Tresham

Hornick, Iowa- Lottie A. Tresham, 85, of Hornick, died Saturday, Feb. 29, 1992, at Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Hornick, with the Rev. Karen Dearchs officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be 6 – 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home in Sloan.

Mrs. Tresham was born July 11, 1906, near German City, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Steinhoff) Claus. She graduated from Smithland High School and received a teaching certificate from Morningside College. She taught county school at Moville before her marriage to Leslie H. Tresham Jan. 24, 1926, near Hornick. The couple farmed at Hornick until moving into town in 1966. They were well-known collectors of cut glass. He died Jan. 12, 1992, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Tresham was a member of the Hornick United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Hornick Library Club, and Hindman-Steele Post 492, American Legion Auxiliary. She was a past president of the Women’s Federated Clubs and was Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Smithland.

Survivors include a brother, Paul of Hornick; four nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lester; and a sister, Marie Watson.
