BRONSON, Iowa -- Glen F. Tague, 93, of Bronson died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at Countryside Retirement Center in Sioux City, where he had resided for the last five years.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in Westfork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Glen was born June 6, 1913, in Bronson, the son of Clyde E. and Mable (Vermilyea) Tague. He attended school through the tenth grade. After he was finished with his education, he helped on the family farm until he was inducted into the U.S. Army on May 8, 1941. He served almost five years with the 213th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion at various bases throughout the United States with a five month stint in the Philippine Islands. Upon his discharge, he returned to farming and settled in a place near Holly Springs, Iowa. In 1975, he moved to Bronson and resided there until moving to his final home at Countryside in June 2001.

He enjoyed attending the live horse races at Atokad and did so until they were discontinued. He was an avid sports fan and watched his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs, whenever they were playing.

Survivors include 10 nieces and husbands, Bonnie Dyer, Beth and Tom Slaven, Pat and Bill Denzer, Nancy and Francis Baker, Kathy and Doug Stanek, Barb and Randy Phillips, Marlene and Terry Colt, all of Sioux City, Marilyn and Brian Bond of Battle Creek, Iowa, Rita Allard of South Sioux City and Jean and Dave Thompson of Des Moines; two nephews and their wives, Jim and Susan Tague of Lawton, Iowa, and Lin and Karen Tague of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Darlene Tague of Sioux City; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; and a great-grandnephew and great-grandniece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Louise Dyer; three brothers, Carroll, Oliver and Alfred; a niece, Donna Tague; and a nephew, Leonard Tague.

Pallbearers will be Jim Tague, Lin Tague, Tom Slaven, Doug Stanek, Bill Denzer and Francis Baker.
