HORNICK, Iowa -- Robert Morris Jr., 80, of Hornick died Thursday, March 12, 2009.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holly Springs Bible Fellowship Church in rural Holly Springs, Iowa, with Karl Luther officiating. Burial will be in Westfork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Robert Winslow Morris Jr. was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Gladys (Dougherty) Morris. He was raised in the Onawa and Castana, Iowa, area and graduated from Hornick High School in 1947.

He and Lois Sorenson were united in marriage on Aug. 10, 1947, in Sioux City. The couple farmed and raised their family in the area of Hornick.

He was a member of Holly Springs Bible Fellowship Church. He was a life long dedicated farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family. The past 31 years, the couple wintered in Alamo, Texas.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lois of Hornick; four children and their spouses, Janet and Gary Ronfeldt of Schaller, Iowa, Marcia and Dan Ronfeldt of Smithland, Iowa, Vickie and Lee Westergaard of Sloan, Iowa, and Rick and Patti Morris of Sloan; 10 grandchildren, Kim Scheer, Justin Ronfeldt, Melissa Stamp, Jason Ronfeldt, Myra Diaz, Marisa Morris, Kari Steward, David Westergaard, Kelly Westergaard and Douglas Westergaard; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robin Morris; a granddaughter, Mindy Ronfeldt; a brother, Dewayne Morris; and a sister, Beverly Hodgins.
