3 June 2005OMAHA, Neb. -- Gregg W. Gries, 55, of Omaha died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Broadway United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. today in Climbing Hill, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Cutler-O'Neill Chapel in Council Bluffs.
Mr. Gries was a teacher and coach at Riverside Middle School in Carson, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Beem) Gries of Omaha; two daughters, Elizabeth Gries of Ames, Iowa, and Emily Gries of Omaha; three stepdaughters, JaNean (Al) Stusse of Omaha, Patti McDaniel of Sergeant Bluff and Deanna (Paul) Leach of South Sioux City; a stepson, Mike (Summer Wilson) Mitchell of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Edna Gries of Omaha; grandchildren, Josh and Jordyn McDaniel, Kolin and Kyle Stusse, Zach and Alexandria Leach and Dodge and Maggie Mitchell; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Gries; and an infant sister.
Memorials may be directed to Open Door Mission, Nebraska Humane Society or Broadway United Methodist Church.
