Irene A. Sadler, 82, 441 W. Third St., died Saturday, January 19, 1991, at her residence after a sudden illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Wimmer, pastor of Whitfield United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset View Cemetery in Washta, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sadler, the former Irene A. Wright was born October 11, 1908, in Correctionville, Iowa, the daughter of Hugh and Lulu Wright. She graduated from Correctionville High School in 1926 and had been a Sioux City resident for more than 50 years. She worked for I-go Moving and Storage for 20 years, retiring in 1974.

Mrs. Sadler was a member of the Women’s Transportation Club and the Whitfield United Methodist Church. An AID Center volunteer, she helped with the distribution of social service benefit items and was the AID Center Coordinator for the Centennial Building. She received the Governor’s Award for volunteer work in 1986.

Survivors include four nieces, Luanne Larson of Sioux Falls, S.D., Ramona Farber of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Vicky Kinne of Jefferson, Iowa, and Ronna Taylor of Canyon Country, California; and three nephews, Larry Fogleman of North Ridge, California, Roger Fogleman of Van Nuys, California and Donald Fogleman of Sacramento, California.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Ega and Leona Fogleman.
