Moville, Iowa—Gene E. Bremer, 65, of Moville died Saturday, July 9, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital of a sudden illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville with the Rev. Michael A. Kroona officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville.

Mr. Bremer was born September 21, 1928, in Sioux City, the son of Edmund and Cora (Riser) Bremer. He attended rural schools in the Moville area and graduated from Moville High School in 1946. He married Lila M. Zenor December 23, 1951, in Lawton. He was a farmer and cattle feeder. He had played professional baseball in the minor leagues with the New York Yankees organization.

Mr. Bremer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moville. He was a charter member of The Meadows golf club, where he had been green keeper the last 14 years. He was a member of Trail Masonic Lodge 532 AF & AM and Abu Bekr Shrine Temple. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeff and his wife, Jackie Bremer of Moville and Joe Bremer and his fiancée, Gina Trudau of Sloan; two brothers, his twin, Jack Bremer of Moville and Don and his wife, Sue Bremer of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Jamey, Kurt, Lacey and Jesse and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin sons and a sister-in-law, Darlene Bremer.

Memorials have been established in his name with Woodbury Central Athletic Fund and Trinity Lutheran Church.
