Funeral Services Held July 2 For Clarence Stilwell

Funeral services for Clarence E. Stilwell, 89, of Clinton, formerly of Lawton and Moville area, were held Saturday, July 2, 1994 at 10:30 at the Community Congregational Church. Rev. E. Leon Willhite officiated. Burial was in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton.

Casket bearers were grandsons, Jim, Marshall, Tim, Eden, Eric, Peters, Mark McAndrews, Joe Cahill, Brad and Ryan Kaup.

Mr. Stilwell was born May 5, 1905 in Plymouth County, to Warren and Emma Heinrich Stilwell. He married Mildred Sherwood, March 6, 1935 in Wall Lake. She died April 23, 1987. He farmed with his wife near Moville before moving to Clinton. He was retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He was a member of the Community Congregational Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, flowers and repairing clocks.

Mr. Stilwell died Wednesday, June 29, 1994, at Freeport Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marlin (Sharon) Eden of Lena, Illinois, and Mrs. Carl (Linda) Kaup of Clinton; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two sisters, Minnie Held of Hinton, and Mrs. Albert (Pearl) Ellison of Lawton.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Orville and Lester.
