Funeral Services Held Wednesday For Steven W, Georgesen

Funeral services for Steven W. Georgesen, 37, of Sioux City, were held Wednesday March 18, 1992 at 10:30 a.m. at the Moville United Methodist Church. Rev Orrin T. Potter officiated. Interment was in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville. The Rev. Floyd Brown of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Sioux City officiated at the prayer service on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Janice Schnaible, soloist, sang “In My Father’s House Are Many Mansions” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” A piano-organ duet was provided by Mark Haberman and Gayl Farnum, Mark Haberman was organist.

Casket bearers were Messrs. Tim and Mike Luse, Dan and Eric Georgesen, Aldin Skow and Eugene Burgin.

Mr. Georgesen was born February 9, 1955 in Independence, Missouri, and moved to Sioux City in 1958. He graduated from North High School in 1973 and was a graduate of Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, Iowa. He was a linen aide in the laundry department of Marian Health Center for 16 years.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City and also was active in the Mount Zion Baptist Church.

He was formerly involved in Scouting.

Mr. Georgesen died Friday March 13, 1992 in Minneapolis of complications following surgery.

Survivors include his parents, George and Audrey Georgesen of Moville; a brother, Ron Georgesen of Minneapolis; a sister, Linda Georgesen of Kansas City, Kansas; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
