TICONIC, Iowa -- Inez Elaine Cox, 76, of Ticonic died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ticonic Methodist Church with the Revs. Shirley Textor, Louis Aitken and Gary Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Mrs. Cox was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Silver City, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Ellen (Trimmer) Chapin. She attended school at Glenwood, and later graduated from Castana High School in 1943. She married Paul Cox on Sept. 4, 1945, at her parents' house in Onawa, Iowa. The couple farmed at Ticonic. Mr. Cox died Sept. 11, 1995.

She was a member of Ticonic Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed cooking and being a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters and their sons, Karen and Sam Mele, and Jo Ann and Larry Dulmstra, all of Omaha; two sons, Bruce of Sloan, Iowa, and Brian and his wife, Cheri of Smithland; her mother of Whiting, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lila Ankerstjerne of Onawa.

She also was preceded in death by her father.
