HORNICK, Iowa - LaVonne Marie Miller, 76, of Hornick died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at United Me-thodist Church in Hornick. Burial will be in Little Sioux Township Cemetery in Smithland, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa.

Mrs. Miller was born July 3, 1925, in Smithland, the daughter of Clarence and Tory (Garved) Scott. She attended school in Smithland. She married LeRoy C. Miller on April 20, 1942, in Dakota City.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hornick.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Randy Petersen of Lawton, Iowa, and Diana and Rodd Nordstrom of Sloan; five grandchildren, Cory Nordstrom, Ryan Klingensmith, Eric and Adam Petersen and Amy Nordstrom; a great-grandson; two sisters and their husbands, Gladys and Kenneth Hanson of Sioux City, and Barbara and Ted Prichard of Dakota Dunes; a brother-in-law and his wife, Keith and Alice Miller of Mapleton, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Carol Hewett of Sioux City, Freda and her husband, Waldo Lundeen of Onawa, Iowa, and Jeannine Clemon of Onawa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roger; and a brother, James Scott.
