Onawa, Iowa—Myrna A. Cox, 85, of Onawa died Wednesday, August 26, 1998, at the Elmwood Care Center in Onawa.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa. Burial will be in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cox was born July 4, 1913, in rural Climbing Hill, Iowa, the daughter of Rufus A. and Clara Hazel (Ficken) Lines. She graduated from Climbing Hill High School.

She married Cleo Melvin Cox on April 8, 1933 in Onawa. The couple moved to the Onawa area in 1933. He died November 11, 1985, in Onawa. She was a drummer in the Cox Orchestra. She enjoyed horses.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Clifford and Priscilla of Castana, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Lanet and Stan Quy of Valley, Nebr.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a brother, Wilbert “Tiny” Lines of Moville, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ilene; a sister, Arlene and a brother, “Bud”.
