Smithland, Iowa—Marion Opal Larson, 80, of Smithland died Thursday, April 4, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon, Iowa, with the Rev. Walter Enstrom officiating. Burial will be in Little Sioux Township Cemetery in Smithland.

Mrs. Larson, the former Marian Sands, was born October 28, 1915, in Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of Carl Ferdinand and Margaret (Dement) Sands. She married Charles Braun on March 16, 1933 in Jackson, Minn. She resided in the Danbury, Anthon and Smithland areas during her life.

Mrs. Larson was a member of the German City Evangelical Church and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include three sons, Carl Braun of Sioux City, Richard Braun and his wife Deanna of Salix, Iowa, and Lloyd Braun of Smithland; seven grandchildren, Steven, Richard Jr. and Kevin Braun and Tami Benson, Julie Nelson, Cynthia McBride and Melissa Wojick; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Tillie Marie, who was stillborn and three brothers, Harold, James and Carl.
