Olive L Demarest, 84, of Carson, California, a former Sioux City resident, died April 8, 1995, at a hospital in Long Beach, California.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Saturday at the Smithland (Iowa) Cemetery. Wayne Cox will officiate.

Mrs. Demarest was born September 29, 1910, in Smithland, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Ferdig) Peacock. She graduated from Smithland High School. She moved to Sioux City in about 1955. On July 27, 1957, she married Orville Demarest in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Sioux City. She moved to Carson in 1991 to live with her son. Mr. Demarest died in 1992.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Howard Cox and two grandchildren, Mark and Samantha Cox, all of Carson.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, William and a sister, Edith.
