17 March 1995Elsie May Lloyd, 88, Sioux City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 15, 1995 at her residence.
Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Smithland, Iowa with Pastor Karen Dearchs officiating. Burial will be in the Smithland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Morningside Chapel.
Mrs. Lloyd, the former Elsie May Anderson, was born May 8, 1906, in Des Moines. She attended rural schools in Smithland and Oto. She married Robert Lloyd May 8, 1923. He died in 1986 in Sioux City. She lived in Northwest Iowa most of her life.
Survivors include four sons and their wives, Robert C. Lloyd and Lady of Ida Grove, Iowa, Gary Lloyd and Hilda of Westfield, Iowa, Paul E. Lloyd and Donna L of Westfield and Gaylen R. Lloyd and Jane of Luverne, Minn; two brothers, Carl and Gerald Anderson, both of Mapleton, Iowa; a sister, Hazel Morris and her husband Bill, of Eugene, Oregon; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gertrude and a son, Harold
