Mrs. David E. Eyer

Mrs. David E. Eyer, 64, 3221 42nd St., was dead on arrival Thursday morning at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rutledge-Gulsrud Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Norman Bagaas of First Covenant Church will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Earl Jones, John Graser, John Morton, Chuck Gurnsey, Gene Newton and Jimmy Kelsheimer.

A prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 o’clock this evening at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Eyer, the former Irene S. Longstreth, was born August 7, 1911, at Sergeant Bluff. She was married June 9, 1929 at Sergeant Bluff. He died April 29, 1973 in Sioux City. She worked for a number of years as a cook at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Survivors include four sons, John of Bronson, Gary of rural Sioux City, and Keith and Edward, both of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. James (Joan) Stevenson of Des Moines and Mrs. Ralph (Sue) Schofield of Rockland, Mass; five brothers, Rex of Sergeant, Everett of Santa Monica, California, Glen of Long Beach, California and Gene and Duane, both of Los Angeles, California; three sisters, Mrs. Fern Scott of Grant Pass, Oregon, Mrs. Jane Buteyn of Santa Monica and Lavonne Longstreth in California; her mother, Mrs. Susan Longstreth of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren.
