Anthon, Iowa—Jennie M. Copenhaver, 95. Of rural Anthon died Wednesday, January 8, 1992 at her home after a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hinton (Iowa) United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Daylong officiating. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery, Hinton. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Christy Morningside Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Mrs. Copenhaver, the former Jennie DenBensten, was born September 26, 1896, in Chicago, the daughter of Gilbert and Clara DenBensten. She married Orval C. Copenhaver March 16, 1916, in Mandan, N.D. They lived in North Dakota until moving to Iowa. The couple farmed near Hinton for 40 years and moved in to their daughter, Irene Welte’s home near Anthon four years ago.

Mrs. Copenhaver was a member of the Hinton United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women for many years.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter Irene Welte of Anthon; a daughter and her husband, Audrey and George Olson of Emerson, Nebraska; a son and his wife, Lyle and Margie Copenhaver of Hinton; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and five step great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers; a sister and a grandson.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bruce and Alan Copenhaver, Darrell Olson, Eldon Dykshorn, Daryl McGhee and Lloyd Beauchene.
