Memorial Services Held Wednesday For Ruth Treptow

Memorial services for F. Ruth Treptow, 73, of Pierson were held Wednesday August 12, 1992 at the Pierson United Methodist Church. Rev. John Battern officiated. He body was donated to the Mayo Foundation at Rochester, Minnesota.

Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley were in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Treptow, the former Frances Ruth Miller, was born March 2, 1919 at Correctionville, the daughter of Harvey and Blanche (Wenbowine) Miller. She attended school in Correctionville and Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, Nebraska. She taught in rural schools and at Spencer. On October 28, 1946 she married Melvin Treptow at Rock Branch. The couple made their home in Pierson where she did substitute teaching.

She was a member of the Pierson United Methodist Church where she was active in circle and mission work. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Pierson and a charter member of the Kingsley Swingers Square Dance Club.
Mrs. Treptow died Sunday August 9, 1992 after being stricken at her home.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter and her husband, Marilyn and Jay Moeller of Somers; a brother, Ray and his wife, Mary Jane Miller of Correctionville; two sisters and their husbands, Lorraine and Hessel Roorda of Rock Valley and Joann and Dr. Bill Cameron of Keokuk; and a granddaughter, JoAnna.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Alan.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association and the Pierson United Methodist Church in her name.
