Freda Goldenberg, 96, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in St. Petersburg following a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City, with Rabbi Bonnie Leavy officiating. Burial will be in Independent Farane Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Goldenberg was born Sept. 15, 1906, in Chelsea, Mass., the daughter of Barnett and Mary Shiloff. She married Edward Goldenberg in 1940, in Griffin, Ga. He died in 1976. She had been a longtime resident of St. Petersburg.

While in Sioux City, she was a member of Shaare Zion Synagogue.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, H.H. Shiloff and A. Shiloff; and two sisters, Rose Levin and Ann Kurland.
