James Willard Cutler, 86, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Cutler was born Aug. 14, 1916, in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the Pacific Theater, during World War II.

He married June Vennard in Sioux City. He worked as a salesman with Sodak Distributing in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed hunting and golfing as his hobbies.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, June of Sioux Falls; two daughters and their husbands, Jackene and Albert Narduzzo of Bellevue, Neb., and Judy and Scott Hase of Ely, Nev.; a son and his wife, Michael E. and Karen Cutler of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Shirley Tansey of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
