26 January 2003Norma J. (Pithan) Taylor, 73, of Sioux City died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at a Sioux City nursing home following a brief illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Richter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Norma was born April 3, 1929, in Laurel, Neb., the daughter of Earnest and Elsie (Romstay) Spike.
She married John J. Pithan on Jan. 24, 1946, in Sioux City. He died Feb. 27, 1967. She then married George Taylor in 1968 in Sioux City.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church as well as the Siouxland Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and playing cards and dancing.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Pithan and his wife, Sonney of Elkhorn, Neb., Cleo Pithan of Chico, Calif., and Francis Taylor and his wife, Susan of Sioux City; four grandchildren, John Pithan, Thomas Pithan and his wife, Sarah, Jenny Pithan and Tyler Lamoureux; and two great-grandchildren, Colton and Sydney Pithan.
In addition to her first husband, John Pithan, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clyde Spike.
