MOVILLE, Iowa -- Lucille Jerine Parks, 85, of Moville died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, with the Rev. Roger J. Augustine officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Lucille was born Dec. 10, 1917 in Sioux City, the daughter of Elton and Myrtle (Laundrish) Ruring. She was a graduate of Central High School in Sioux City.

She married Loren Parks in Leeds, Iowa, on April 15, 1937. The couple farmed in the Leeds area until 1942, when they moved to a farm in the Moville area. Loren entered into eternal rest Feb. 17, 2000. Lucille lived on the farm until moving to Char-Mac in Lawton in December 2000. She was a farm wife and helped in all aspects of farming.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Guild. She loved dancing, playing cards, fishing, camping, traveling and horseback riding.

Survivors include two daughters, Colleen and her husband, Gene Knop of Ida Grove, Iowa, and Shella and her husband, Patrick Rooney of Sioux City; two sons, Donald and his wife, Ollie Parks of Moville, and Jerry and his wife, Jeannie Parks of Bucklin, Mo.; two sisters, Lorraine Kronewitter of Mesa, Ariz., and Thelma Rogers of Kent, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Parks; a daughter, Jerine Schlotman; a brother, Elton "Bud" Ruring; and a sister, Margaret Trulock.

Pallbearers will be Don Knop, Teresa Mix, Jeff Parks, Jeremy Parks, Chad Rooney and Rick Schlotman.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
