Jamelia "Jimmie" Ellis, 91, of Sioux City died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Antiochian Orthodox Church, with the Very Rev. Thomas Begley officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Orthodox Church Cemetery in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present after 6 p.m. and a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., all at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.

Miss Ellis was born Dec. 1, 1911, in Millboro, S.D., the daughter of Kelly and Tillie (Saab) Ellis. She grew up in Millboro and attended country schools. She came to Sioux City around 1940. She worked for many years at Silver Steer Restaurant in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. Thomas Antiochian Orthodox Church and the Ladies Society.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Dawdy and Delia Skaff; and three brothers, Sam, George and Tom Ellis.
