Elaine N. Rogers, 98, of Sioux City died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at NorthPark Assisted Living in Sioux City.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Don Wood of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rogers was born March 5, 1904, in Sioux City, the daughter of Henry and Mayme Barnt. She graduated from Morningside College in 1925.

She married R. Glenn "Honie" Rogers on Aug. 20, 1925. The couple co-founded Sportsman's Inc., a sporting goods store in Sioux City, in 1946. Mr. Rogers died Dec. 14, 1983, in Sioux City.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Wimodausis and P.E.O. Chapter DX.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert G. and Joyce Rogers Jr. of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Genevieve Gilchrist of Evergreen, Colo.; four grandchildren, Debby Rogers, Diane Weaver, Bobby Rogers and Bruce Rogers; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Michael Rogers; and two sisters, Helen Gerber and Bernadine Bruner.

Memorials may be directed to Morningside College.
