Margaret H. Mahaney, 86, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Allen D. Call of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mahaney was born Nov. 30, 1916, in Geddes, S.D., the daughter of Harry L. and Bertie C. (Olson) Johnson. She moved to Sioux City in 1942.

She married William L. Mahaney on April 1, 1948, in Sioux City. She had been employed with Aalfs Manufacturing for 18 years prior to going to work for Zenith Corp. in the early 1970s. Mr. Mahaney passed away Oct. 30, 1973, in Sioux City. She was most recently employed with Iowa Public Service.

She was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include two brothers, Lawrence Johnson of Mitchell, S.D., and Delmer Johnson and his wife, Mary, of Sioux City; three sisters, Gelene and her husband, Gailen Coats, Harriett Burnham and Donna and her husband, Gene Farris, all of Mitchell, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Willis Johnson; and a nephew, Mark Edward Johnson.

Pallbearers will be her nephews and great-nephews.
