Eva D. Clark, 101, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at Avera Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Chapel at Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Salix, Iowa. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m., at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.

Mrs. Clark was born Aug. 31, 1901, in Salix, Iowa, to Michael and Jane (O'Connor) Harrington. She graduated from high school at The Mound in Sinsinawa, Wis. In 1925, she graduated from Rosary College in River Forest, Ill. She taught Latin for several years in Wisconsin. She returned to Iowa and worked in sales at T.S. Martin Department Store in Sioux City.

She married Ernest Clark on Aug. 4, 1937, in Salix. The couple lived in Sloan, Iowa, from 1937 to 1963. Ernest died Oct. 29, 1955. She lived in Sioux City from 1963 until 1998, where she was employed as a medical secretary at St. Joseph Hospital. She entered Avera Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls in December 1999.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix.

Survivors include a son and his wife, James and Phyllis of Sioux Falls; and three grandchildren, Patrick of Long Island City, N.Y., Shannon of Loveland, Colo., and Michael of Oakland, Calif.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be directed to Heelan High School in Sioux City or Sioux Falls Catholic School System.
