After graduating from Creighton Medical School, in 1943, Howard Rudersdorf spent three years in the Army as a Battalion Surgeon. He took over Dr Joe Fitzgerald’s practice in 146 in Sloan, Iowa.

Dr Rudersdorf married Mary Ann Donohue of Bonesteel, South Dakota, in 1947 and they are the parents of five children: John, M.D., born 1948; Tom, D.D.S., 1950; Pat, B.S., 1951; Mary Ann, M.A., 1953; and Greg, 1959, a student at Tulsa University.

Dr Rudersdorf had practiced in Sioux City for thirty-eight years.
