S P ‘Red Pete’ Rasmussen

S P ‘Red Pete’ Rasmussen was an early settler in the Bronson area. He had married Mena Rasmussen (maiden name) in the early 1880s. They raised eight children on their farm north of Bronson;

Anna, who married Will DeLaughter;

Andrew, who married Minnie Keefe;

Edith, who married Charles LeMoine;

Hattie, who married W E Clark;

Minnie who married Phil Onstot;

Carl Nelson, who married Florence Allen;

Ferdinand, who married Irene Fear;

Harry M, who married Margaret Miller.
The only direct descendants living in the Bronson area are: Lloyd Rasmussen, son of Carl and Florence, and Dean Rasmussen, son Lloyd, and Dean’s children, Steve and Nanette. There are however several other grandchildren of S P Rasmussen living in Woodbury County – namely Harold and Ralph DeLaughter, Sioux City; Clarence and Oliver LeMoine, Sioux City; Melvin Rasmussen, Sioux City; Betty Robinson, Moville; and Helen Eberly, Lawton.
