Elmer Mook, the son of Fred Mook and Martha Myers/Meyers, was born September 19, 1899 at Everly, Iowa and died on June 26, 1970 at Yankton, South Dakota. He married Florence Alma Wiese on December 26, 1930 at Merrill, Iowa. She was born January 8, 1909 in Sioux City, Iowa to Louis Wiese and Christine Blankenberg. She died November 13, 1950, at Akron, Iowa.

Elmer and Florence farmed in the Plymouth County area and moved to Akron, Iowa in 1946. They were the parents of eight children: Arnold, Lois, Shirley, Robert, Norma, Darlis, David and Sheryl.

Arnold was born July 5, 1932. He served with the US Navy for three years. He died near Ensanada, Mexico on August 21, 1955, and is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa.

Lois was born January 5, 1934 at Merrill, Iowa. She married Leonard J Welch on August 29, 1953, at Akron, Iowa. He is the son of Frank J And Lucille J Welch of Akron. Lois and Leonard farmed near Akron for a time and then moved to Houston, Texas, where they live now.

Shirley was born November 28, 1936 at Merrill, Iowa. Her husband was an Army career man. They now lie in Texas.

Robert Elmer was born June 3, 1940 at Merill, Iowa. He and his wife, Paulette, and children now live at Denver, Colorado.

Norman Jene was born May 17, 1942 and married an Aaland. She and her family now reside in Colorado.

Darlis Ann was born June 30, 1946 and was married to a Myron and they and their family now live at Vermillion, South Dakota.

David Eugene was born March 10, 1948 at Akron, Iowa. He died at his home in rural Westfield, Iowa on July 7, 1958 and is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.

Sheryl Lee was born December 26, 1949, at Akron, Iowa. Her mother died when she was a baby and she was raised by Roy and Frances Mook at Salix, Iowa. She married David Pyle and they are the parents of three children, Gary, Kirk, and Wendy. They now reside in Sioux City, Iowa.
