Walter Frisbie Erskine
By Bonnie J HeetlandWalter was born January 14, 1902, in Emmerson Heights, Sioux City, Iowa. He was the son of Cyril Benjamin and Minnie Alice Frisbie Erskine. Walter attended schools in both Iowa and Minnesota. In Sioux City he attended Longfellow and East High. He worked at the Wincharger Factory during World War II doing war work, also for Davidson’s Department Store, and for Armour Packing Company, as checker for twenty years.
Walter never married. He lived with his folks, and sisters, Marian and Edith. He was a member of the Morningside Lodge 615 AF & AM; the Hiking Club; and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Walter died on May 23, 1967, and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa.
