Daniel A Beaver, the oldest son of Aaron and Allie (Winterringer) Beaver, was born in Woodbury County, Iowa, on February 17, 1895. On December 6, 1917, he was married to Clarabel Eva Linsner. She was born March 7, 1900, in Troy, Illinois, the daughter of Theresa Frank and Henry Linsner.

Daniel and Clarabel farmer for many years near Oto in Woodbury County, Iowa. In 1929 when the crash came, they had to sell out to pay the cash rent. In 1930 they lived in Holly Springs, while Dan worked in Hornick as an automobile mechanic. A severe flood came and that ended his job. In 1931 they moved to Midway, Iowa, where Dan worked for Peter Wigand for one year. In 1932 they moved to John Peterson’s farm and worked for him. In 1933 they moved to near Anthon and operated a 320 acre farm for Frank C Gothier.

In 1943 they moved to Anthon where Dan worked for Bill Fern in repairing harness and shoes. Fern operated a feed and seed store. In 1947 Dan purchased and operated his own shoe repair shop in Morningside, Sioux City. He retired in 1964 after 17 years of repairing shoes.

They moved in 1972 to a mobile home court in Moville. On June 19, 1973, a killer tornado destroyed the mobile home court where they lived. Dan received an injured back and many cuts from glass. Clarabel received some very serious injuries. She had five ribs broken, her back was fractured, and her right shoulder, and right arm were broken. For two weeks she remained in critical condition from shock. After many weeks in a Sioux City Hospital, Clarabel and Dan went to live with their oldest son, Paul, who lived in Fort Dodge. After ten weeks of convalescing, they moved into their own home at the Oak Park Mobile Home Court, Fort Dodge, Iowa. They both now live at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center, 2721 10th Avenue North, Fort Dodge, Iowa 50501.

To this union were born two sons, Paul and Warren. Paul was born July 26, 1919, near Oto, Iowa. He married Ernestine Sands on December 13, 1940. Paul served in the US Navy during World War II. Following the war he entered Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, to prepare for the ministry. They have three children: Jeanine, Dale and Coleen. Jeanine married Anthony Caponigro and they live in Ankeny, Iowa. They have two sons, Mark and Matthew. Dale married Julie Brandenburg. They live near Fort Dodge. Coleen lives with her parents in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On May 18, 1978, Ernestine died of cancer. In 1979 Paul married Mrs Estheri I Keeney, the former Esther Hancock, daughter of W P and Olive Hancock, was born May 3, 1916, in Lucas County, Iowa. Her minister husband had died the year before. They now live in Cedar Rapids where Paul is the pastor of the Trinity Church of the Nazarene.

Warren was born November 8, 1921, near Oto, Iowa. He served in the US Navy also during World War II. It was while he was living in Florida that he met and married Betty Sparks on April 6, 1946. To this union were born three girls: Annette, Marilyn, and Donna. Annette married David Siwek and they have two girls. Marilyn married David Ayala. Donna married Michael Toole. All three girls live in Florida. Warren now lives at 110 NW 50th Avenue, Miami, Florida. His wife died in 1960.

Dan and Clarabel have four great grandchildren.
