Funeral services for Mrs. L. V. Strayer, 70, of Cresco, were held Sunday afternoon, Aug. 7, in the Strayer home. The Rev. George W Turner of the Cresco Methodist church of which she was a member, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Strayer died at her home Thursday, Aug. 4.

Clara Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Peterson, was born near Decorah September 29 1878. She was married to Lynn V Strayer September 22, 1909, and they became the parents of three daughters. Mrs. Strayer spent her entire life in the Cresco and Decorah communities.

She became a member of the Methodist church in March, 1918, during the pastorate of the Rev. Edwin G. Copeland.

She is survived by her husband and daughters, Mrs. C. S. Chicky of Saginaw, Mich, Mrs. G. A. Kellow of Highland Park, Ill., and Mrs. E. J. Liggett of Madison, Wis.

Also surviving are sisters, Mrs. E. O. Iverson of Cresco, Mrs. Linda Pierce of Belgrade, Mont.; Mrs Esther Monson of Decorah, and Mrs. Cornelia Baynton of Ooltewah, Tenn. There are also four grandchildren.
