Geo. Sherman received a telegram on Saturday morning announcing the death of his nephew Lloyd Hurd of Spirit Lake, who was killed in an auto accident at Clear Lake. He left in the afternoon to be present at the funeral, which was held yesterday.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born June 23, 1897 and died Sept. 25, 1914. He is buried in the Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake, IA.
