On Saturday, Aug. 15, at the home of her only son, Mrs. Peter Rosa passed away. Her maiden name was Cassendada Webster, and she was born in Schoharia Co., New York, Jan. 13, 1838. She was 76 years, 7 months and 2 days old at the time of her death, death being due to paralysis and cancer. She was a long and patient sufferer, a kind mother and a friend to all. She came to Iowa with her parent in 1851, where she resided until her death. She became the wife of Peter Rosa in 1867, Mr. Rosa dying in 1904. Mrs. Rosa leaves to mourn her loss one son, Webb, three brothers, one sister and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Centennial church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Rev. Hursh of Castalia, assisted by Rev. Wells of Ossian, officiating. The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the adjoining cemetery. The relatives have the sympathy of this community.
