Mrs. Jacob Rausch passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. John Barbarick on Tuesday last. Mrs. Rausch’s death was due to dropsy and she had been confined to her bed for the past three years. She was born in Bavaria, Germany, March 24, 1826, where he lived until 1854, when she with her parents came to America settling at Lancaster, N. Y. They have been residents of this county since 1863. Her marriage to Jacob Rausch occurred on April 18, 1856, at Festina. Her death is mourned by her daughter Mrs. Barbarick of this place. The funeral was held Friday at 10:00 o’clock from the Catholic church, Rev. Father Dragoun officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Rausch was beloved by all who knew her, and has many friends who mourn her untimely demise. The pall bearers were Will, Frank, Leo, Andrew and Hugo Rausch and Frank Maruska.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Dorothea who was born Mar. 26, 1826 and died Aug. 11, 1914. She is buried in St. Johns Cemetery.
