John P. Ernster and Leo Barthelme were passengers for Deerwood, Minn, Sunday evening, being called there by the sudden death of Hugo Barthelme.

This community was shocked on Sunday to hear of the sudden death of Hugo Barthelme at Deerwood, Minn., at which place he was drowned on Sunday. This community extends sincere sympathy to the ebreaved{sic} ones.

Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Barthelme of Eldorado autoed to Ossian Tuesday to attend the funeral of Hugo Barthelme.

On Tuesday at ten o’clock at the St. Francis de Sales church, occurred the burial of Hugo Barthelme, Father Ambrose officiating. The deceased met his death by drowning in a lake near Brainard, Minn., on Sunday. He left to mourn him his father, his brothers, Andrew, Leo and Joe at home., John of Cresco and sisters Regina at Home, Mrs. Ernster of Minneapolis, Mrs. Phiel of Chicago and Mrs. Clyde Dolman of Colorado Springs, Colo., all of whom were present at the interment.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Oct. 3, 1887 and died July 5, 1914. He is buried in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.
