College Student Dies.
Gustave Henderson, president of the Freshman class at Luther College, died Friday night after an illness of three weeks from pneumonia and other complications. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Henderson, residing near Cresco, and was born April 24, 1894. Beside his parents he is survived by four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held at the college Saturday morning and the remains were taken to Cresco where services were held on Tuesday, Rec.{sic} Figenbaum officiating. The remains were escorted from the college to the depot by the faculty and students. The deceased was prominent in the activities of the student body as is shown by the fact that he was one of the substitutes on the basket ball team and was to have accompanied the band on its trip to Norway in May.

We are sorry to hear of the death of Gus Henderson, who passed away at Decorah last week. He is a resident of Howard county and was a young man of sterling integrity, loved by all who knew him. His family all have the sincere sympathy of our people.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in Orleans Lutheran Cemetery shows he died Feb. 20, 1914.
