After several years of patient suffering God called to her reward Mrs. Frank Rausch of this place, who passed away at her home Friday evening. Catherine Haubrich was born March 18, 1888, on their farm west of town. Here and near St. Lucas were spent her childhood days, later making her home with her uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Croat of Waucoma. On June 15, 1899{?}, she was united in marriage with Frank Rausch of this place and since then have made their home here. Shortly after their marriage she was taken ill with that dreaded disease, tuberculosis. As not much relief could be had, she suffered patiently and quietly, awaiting the inevitable summons of her Maker. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her death her father, Martin Haubrich, now of Dubuque. Her mother passed away several years ago. The funeral was held from St. John’s church, Monday at 9:30 a.m., Rev. Father Dragoun officiating. The pall bearers were Messrs. J. A. Wandas, A. J. Schreiber, Ray Schissel, J. J. Kubish, F. C. and F. A. Smith. The interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Those from a distance who attended the funeral ere Mr. and Mrs. Barney Greteman and son of Willey, Ia., Mat Blong, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith of Waucoma, Mrs. F. Maruska and daughter of Alta Vista, Drank Maruska, Mrs. Jos. Rink, Joe Haubrich and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Croat of Cresco.

Transcriber’s Note: She would have only been eleven on the above date of marriage. Find a Grave shows they were married in 1909. Her gravestone shows her name as Kate.
